It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Commission scolaire du Littoral website which highlights all the noteworthy elements regarding the School Board, its schools as well as its centres. The site demonstrates that all that we do is designed to improve the quality of the services offered to students, parents and the communities.
Concern for the success of our young people and adults is at the heart of all the actions undertaken by the School Board and the schools. We sincerely believe that academic perseverance and success are the shared responsibilities of society.
Each year, the School Board promotes the carrying out of several joint actions by working closely with its partners. An example worth mentioning is the collaborative work with the health network, to ensure understanding and support of the École en santé (Healthy Schools) approach. Another example could be the efforts undertaken to organize vocational training. These actions show the School Board?s desire to continue to search for new solutions designed to stimulate the economy, to prevent the drop outs and to prevent the exodus of our young people.
In order to counter isolation and to increase the use of new technologies, the School Board has prioritized the setting up of Community Learning Centres in four schools. It is important to continue in this vein and to ensure the implementation of connectivity solutions that will support the development of innovative projects. To do this, the School Board is actively involved in the Villages branchés (connected villages) program for the deployment of telecommunications infrastructures.
Furthermore, the School Board shows its commitment to our young people and our communities by the financial support it extends to participation in extracurricular sports and recreational activities.
I invite you to take a few moments to peruse the Web site that provides information about our organization and that clearly shows that the students, parents, communities and employees are at the heart of everything that the School Board does.
Happy browsing!
